Our Story

In 2024, half the world’s population participated in elections, many incumbents were removed from office. This highlighted a design flaw in the democratic process… Too much focus on who is elected, but not enough on how they govern.

Without regular assessment of performance, leaders stray from their mandates. Large-scale civic movements and anti-war protests also underlined the need for real-time accountability between election cycles.

HOLA was conceived as a tool to empower citizens to regularly assess the performance of leaders and provide ongoing feedback, instead of merely waiting for the next election.

HOLA aims to move the conversation forward from who is elected to how they govern.
